About UsH3 Pet Supply is owned and operated by Lisa Gay and Cindy Socha. Both have resided in Shelton for over 15 years and are deeply committed to the community. Their love and dedication to animals and animal welfare is reflected in the work each has done to help homeless, injured and abused animals in Shelton and surrounding towns for the last 12 years. Both are founding members of the Trumbull Animal Group (a group which works with animals at the Trumbull Animal Shelter) and both regularly volunteer with several other animal shelters and animal rescue organizations. This dedication to animal welfare has provided them with a wealth of knowledge regarding animal behavior and other animal related issues that they believe will benefit the customers of H3 Pet Supply. Prior to starting H3 Pet Supply, Lisa was a dog and cat groomer for 12 years. Her grooming ability and her reputation for being extremely patient and caring for her four legged clients meant at least a two month wait to get an appointment. Previous to H3 Pet Supply, Cindy was employed in Corporate Finance for over 20 years. The decision to follow her true passion in life is why she is starting H3 Pet Supply. Each owns several rescued cats and dogs and one rescued rabbit. SIMON

TABOO
BOO Boo is a 18 year old male domestic short hair. He was abandoned in Fairfield 7 years ago after his family moved and left him to fend for himself. He was one of the lucky ones and found someone to help him. NOTE: Boo passed away in January 2010 after a long illness. Boo befriended every animal he met during his life including birds, mice, squirrels, chipmunks, you name it. He will not however be missed by any neighborhood cats whom he chased into the next county if they dared show their face near his house. FRANCIS & FRANCES Francis the boy and Frances the girl are one year old domestic short haired cats that were bottle fed after being found in Hamden without a mother around. Normally cats like this would be adopted into loving homes once they reached 8 weeks of age but these two decided early on that they wanted to stay. Every time someone came to possibly adopt them they acted like the most horrible, unsocialized, unfriendly cats on the earth. They have taken it upon themselves to care for the older dogs, especially Bailey, and spend the rest of their time driving Taboo crazy. FAITH Faith is a 10 month old female brat (I mean cat) who was rescued from the Bridgeport Animal Shelter in February, 2010. She is quite possibly the most amazing cat ever. She began her life as a stray on the streets and was severely burned by some psychopaths before being turned into the shelter. We found her at the shelter with a missing tail, a severely injured leg and red bubbled skin along the entire length of her back. She had surgery to remove the dead skin along her back and her leg eventually healed itself with a couple of months of TLC. Despite her ordeals, she absolutely loves people and loves other animals. JELLY Jelly is a senior dwarf rabbit. He and 14 other rabbits were abandoned in a home in Trumbull in 2007. Jelly was the oldest of the rabbits and had some medical issues. The younger rabbits all got adopted quickly but he got lucky as well. |
Simon is an 10 year old male Pitbull Terrier. He was rescued after being thrown from a moving car onto the Merritt Parkway in Trumbull when he was only 6 months old. Despite the ordeal and some broken bones, you can say he landed on his feet and into a much better place.
Bailey is a 17 year old female Bichon and Shih Tzu mix, shown here with her buddy Oscar the cat. Old age has taken away her hearing and sight but Oscar makes sure she is always safe. Oscar is also 17 years old and was rescued off the streets of Bridgeport and from the Bridgeport Animal Shelter as a kitten. Note, Oscar passed away in July 2009. Before he died, two kittens came to join the group. The two new kittens have taken it upon themselves to care for Bailey. Oscar must have felt it was OK to leave her in their hands before moving on.
Bruce is a 15 year old male Shih Tzu. He was adopted from a family in Naugatuck in November 2007 after they lost their home and couldn’t keep their beloved dog. He’s still getting used to his new home. You can tell he lived with a nine year old boy as all he will eat is pizza, chicken nuggets and peanut butter & jelly. Vegetables and fruit are out of the question for this dog.
Taboo is approximately 7 years old and was rescued off the streets of Stratford as a pregnant stray about 4 years ago. Despite being diagnosed with Feline AIDS, Taboo is a healthy, happy and totally out of control cat.
